A Fading Memory - Ryan’s unexpected discovery

A few months ago, Ryan, one of our co-founders and a proud dad himself, noticed something deeply upsetting in our studio. During one of Ashley’s local baby classes, a lovely set of hand and footprint impressions had been created using standard inkless wipes on reactive paper - the kind that’s often included in cheaper hand & footprint keepsake kits.

The prints were originally set aside on a shelf, but when Ryan came across them just a few weeks later, he noticed they had already started to fade.

Curious (and more than a little concerned), he began a quiet little experiment - photographing the same print each month to see what would happen over time.

The results were heart-breaking.

We take your little one’s prints and edit them into digital, foil-ready artwork, which means two things:

1. We will always have a digital version of your prints that we can refoil, should the worst happen and you misplace your original. We archive all prints - never delete, they remain backed up on our system forever, we still have the first foil hand and footprint we ever produced on file

2. We can foil additional replica copies with your foil-ready artwork, perfect gifts for family members such as Grandma and Grandad

Once you approve your digital artwork, we then use our exclusive Foil Fusion process - a technique we’ve spent over five years perfecting.

Unlike toner foiling, which sits on top of the card and breaks down over time, Foil Fusion fuses directly into the fibres of the card. No glue. No shortcuts. Just a smooth, satin foil finish that will never fade, peel or crack.
